Dr. Brannon is well read in the orthopaedic basic sciences and enjoys simplifying scientific concepts so that his patients are well informed about their condition and know how to participate in their care. Having trained at a busy medical center, Dr. Brannon is comfortable with challenging cases characterized by chronic pain and complex orthopaedic conditions, doing his best to solve these problems using the best known science and surgical tools available. To this end, Dr. Brannon established Orthopaedic Sciences in March 1999, a medical device company that manufactures the patented precisions devices he uses for joint preservation surgery. We often hear Dr. Brannon comment “we spend so much scientific effort on replacing the knee, an irreversible procedure…why can’t we spend an equal amount of scientific effort on saving the knee.” It is Dr. Brannon’s strong belief that early intervention, combined with a thorough understanding of the science of the disease, provides the best opportunity for saving our joints.

When not practicing, Dr. Brannon truly loves spending time with his family, and it is a joy for him to see his two boys, Michael 24 and Kyle 10, invent their own products as well. The handheld light bulb by Kyle should be patentable! Dr. Brannon is a classical pianist and enjoys playing Beethoven, Chopin, and Rachmaninoff, and on the weekend you may hear him playing Rachmaninoff’s Prelude in G Minor or the Prelude in G Sharp Minor, two of his favorites.
